Wendy Dorman, IoD Jersey branch Chairman, said: "This year we are focusing heavily throughout our programme of activity on why leadership is important if Jersey is to reach its potential and enjoy a positive future. We are lucky to have some excellent leaders in the island and I would encourage anyone who places value on good leadership to think about nominating someone they know who has made a difference through their ability and hard work.”

Michael Cushing, Jersey Managing Partner, Appleby, added: “Appleby has long recognised the importance of encouraging and supporting strong leadership in our local community and has been heavily involved in supporting these awards in Jersey since the IoD launched its inaugural awards 2010.  I am delighted that we are able to continue our association with such an important initiative, which provides a unique platform to recognise and celebrate excellence across all sectors.”

Colin Macleod, who was recognised for winning the large organisation categories at both the Jersey and UK awards last year, commented: "The IoD Award experience was great, both for myself and my colleagues, who enjoyed basking in the reflected glow for a while. I would encourage those thinking about applying to go for it, the benefits  from both a personal and an organisational point of view really are substantial."
