Vicky was called to the English Bar in 1996 and the Jersey Bar in 2008. She founded Callington Chambers, a boutique employment law practice, in 2013. She works for a range of clients, private and public sector, with a focus on the provision of advice to senior executives and directors.
A member of Jersey’s Institute of Directors (IoD) Industries Sub-Committee since 2009, she works closely with business leaders from across the Island’s industries and advises the IoD on changes to Jersey’s discrimination law. She is also Chair of Regulation & Legislation for Digital Jersey.
Claire Boscq-Scott, Founder, The Busy Queen
Claire has more than 25 years’ experience in hospitality and tourism. Originally from France, she has lived in Jersey since 2000. She worked at the St Brelade’s Bay Hotel, opened The Royal Yacht Hotel after its £30M refurbishment; and then moved to L’Horizon Hotel.
In 2009 she set up her own company ‘The Busy Queen’, capitalising on her hospitality experience to provide specialist customer experience, mystery shopping and speed buzzing services. She is a member of the Mystery Shopper Providers Association and The Institute of Customer Service. In 2014 Claire was awarded the IoD Director of the Year Award for a Small Organisation.
Chris Clark, CEO & Founder, Prosperity 24.7
Chris is the CEO and founder of the Consultancy ‘Prosperity 24.7’, a business focused on integrating technology and business with simplicity. He delivers strategic business consultancy focussing on governance, best practice in IT and driving efficiency through the pragmatic use of technology for a range of clients including local Government, Financial Services Regulators and a range of organisations in the Financial Services, Legal and Retail sectors.
Chris won the IoD Jersey Director of the Year Award for a Medium Organisation in 2014 as well as being highly commended in the UK Final IoD Awards. Prosperity 24.7 won the Awards for Enterprise ‘New Enterprise of the Year’ in 2014.
Jason Laity, Managing Director, KPMG Channel Islands
Jason is a Chartered Tax Advisor, Chartered Accountant and Accounting Technician with over 25 year’s experience advising on tax matters. Jason specializes in private client tax work, typically for UK resident non-domiciled individuals, offshore financial services sector businesses, or clients of those businesses. He is a regular media commentator and speaker at conferences in the Channel Islands and further afield.
Jason was Chairman of IoD Jersey Branch from 2011 to 2014 and chaired the IoD Tax Sub-committee from 2005 to 2011. He is one of only three accountants in the first CityWealth guide to European wealth management individuals.
John McGuinness, Headteacher, Grainville School
Grainville is an inclusive 11-16 non-fee paying school and proudly serves a diverse range of student needs and abilities. As Headteacher, John leads teams of staff to create a selfsustaining ‘can do culture’ and raise standards. In partnership with parents and the wider community, he has inspired, motivated and challenged all individuals, students and staff, to be highly successful and moved the school in the last five years from ordinary to extraordinary.
In 2014 John was the winner of both the Jersey and UK IoD Director of the Year for the Public/Third Sector. John went on to be one of two highly commended for the IoD UK Overall Winner Director of the Year.
